Orcon Satellite provides two way Broadband access to every location in the country with nationwide coverage and support. With pans starting at just $59 a month it is now possible to forget about dial up as well as free up your time and your phone line with a quality Broadband Internet service where ever you may be.
With the launch of the new IPStar-1 satellite, Orcon can deliver a service that is dramatically changing rural and event Broadband delivery. From Ski Fields in the Alps to Farms on remote Coasts, Orcon satellite can provide an always on Internet service for all remote requirements from homes and business to farm/community wide wireless networks and remote Internet Café’s.
IPStar-1 is the largest commercial satellite in the world and the first Broadband only one in our skies. It has three spot beams that provide specific coverage for New Zealand at speeds not previously available.
Coverage
Orcon Satellite is available to any location in the country. All that is required is power and a clear view of the Western sky, 270 degrees by compass at an angle of 20 degrees, somewhere on your property. Battery/Solar systems can also be supplied.
Speeds
Orcon Satellite comes in one speed…FAST. With downloads of 1 Meg and uploads of 256K our satellite service is faster than many Broadband alternatives. Other upload, download and data combinations are available on request for particular ICT or Community requirements.

Over Data Cap Usage Policy:
Once your monthly data cap has been reached your service will be slowed down to about dial up speed. A reasonable usage policy applies to data downloads after your cap has been reached. You can upgrade to a higher data plan at any stage.
Implementation Purchase Option
With Orcon Satellite you can purchase the equipment and standard installation for $2350 plus travel costs which will be quoted on request.
Travel, Support and Maintenance
It is important to note that your satellite equipment comes with a 12 Month return to base warranty. Travel and onsite support is chargeable. The cost for on site support will be provided with your service proposal. Typically travel will be $1-300 depending on your location and distance from one of our 13 nationwide bases.
ICT Applications
The Orcon satellite service will support VoIP, Streaming/Broadcast, VPN and remote working applications however the latency may affect some systems. The service uses TCP acceleration technology to minimise latency due to the distances involved. This provides a huge performance improvement over traditional satellite services but the acceleration technology and latency (<700ms) may interfere with some Web Server and VPN applications.
