Important Announcement
We are pleased to announce that WISE Net Ltd has been purchased by Orcon Internet and excited to write and inform you of the new developments.
At WISE Net we have prided ourselves on providing local services and support to the region for over 8 years. The time has come for us to partner with a larger company to continue providing our customers with the most competitive plans and services available. We trust that you have enjoyed the services and support that WISE Net has provided you and want to assure you that things will only get better.
The same team will still be here to provide the local touch and our current premises will remain open for customer service and technical advice. Look out for a change of colour scheme and branding on our office very soon.
We have been working with Orcon for sometime now. Your WISE Net dial-up services have been using Orcon's network since 2002 and we have been provisioning Orcon’s BitStream plans (Broadband over your phone line) since October last year.. This alliance has allowed us to offer special deals. Our new broadband plans are faster then ever before, check out www.orconbroadband.co.nz for the latest deals. Shortly our Dial-Up and Web Hosting customers will also be migrated onto Orcon plans and services which will result in better plans and more features, such as advanced Spam control, prepay value options and content filtering.
Who is Orcon?
Orcon has been around for more than nine years and is currently New Zealand’s fourth largest ISP (Internet Service Provider). Orcon provides connections to both residential and business customers, including some of New Zealand’s largest and most successful companies and governmental departments.
Orcon is the largest 100% New Zealand owned ISP. In recent years they have been the recipient of numerous awards and accolades including the Supreme award at the 2004 Enterprise North Shore Business Excellence Awards and the Hi-Growth company of the year at the Westpac New Zealand Hi-Tech awards, to name a few. More information about the company can be found on Orcon’s website www.orcon.net.nz/company
What is going to change?
YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS WILL NOT CHANGE.
Our Dial Up and Hosting customers will automatically be migrated onto the most appropriate plan and Bitstream customers will be automatically upgraded to one of the new faster/cheaper broadband plans. However, within a month all our customers will be able to change their plans and services on-line. This means you will be able to take advantage of generous discounts for pre pay options and reduced charges if you move your phone toll calls over to us.
Payment Methods and Direct Debits
If you are paying by Automatic Payment or Direct Debit you will need to cancel this as it will be going to the old WISE Net bank account. All our customers will be posted out instructions and a new Direct Debit authority form shortly. As already advised, our Contact Internet customers will now be billed and do not need to top up on-line.
This is an exciting new period for us as we will continue to provide the great local service you have come to expect, but backed by the power of a nationwide service provider.
