About Us
WISE is
roughly an acronym for Wairarapa Internet Services.
The Wairarapa Times-Age purchased the Internet
operation "WINZ" in 1997. From 1 June 1999 the
operation was renamed WISE Net, to avoid continued confusion
with other commercial operations using the WINZ name. Following
the purchase of the Wairarapa Times-Age by Wilson and Horton
in 2002 ownership of WISE Net passed into private shareholding
and the business was relocated from the Times-Age Building
to the Departmental Building in Chapel Street, Masterton
on 6 January 2003 and then in April 2005 to 6 Queen Street,
Masterton.
WISE Net is a founder signatory to the NZ
Internet Code of Practice and and is an authorised .nz
